The expansion of Boschertown Road from the Fire Station to Hwy B is nearing completion. Overall, the expansion will help facilitate increased traffic flow—due to the growth of Charlestowne Landing and the addition of the new High School. The wider road and direct connection slightly West of Hwy 94 will also help to create a safer turn point from Hwy B—eliminating the bottleneck and blind spot where the former Boschertown Road and Hwy 94 intersected.
Other benefits include better water drainage in the area—a problem that persisted after heavy rains on either side of the road— along with better access points in and out of high traffic areas such as the Orchard Farm ELC, Charlestowne Place and the Stable Ridge neighborhood. The expansion is part of a broader plan to connect Little Hills Expressway to the proposed 100-acre park that will occupy land adjacent to the High School.
Overall, the plan was 66.7% funded through federal FTP-S and St. Charles County applications.
